Principal Construction Limited was established in 1999 by Niall Daly and Peter Mahon, both with over 20 years experience in the construction industry. All members of our management team are qualified to at least B.Sc Honors level in their respective fields of expertise, with a number of MSc degrees in Construction Project Management, Construction Economics and Architecture.

What makes us stand apart from our competitors is the quality of our workmanship. We invest heavily in training and development with all personnel participating in continuous learning and educational programs to ensure that our technical and management teams are fully up to speed on all the latest developments in the construction industry. We directly employ a broad range of suitably qualified and skilled tradesman, allowing us to consistently focus and improve on all aspects of quality in construction.

These issues are an important part of the management focus within our company and are implemented, monitored and controlled through a comprehensive management system. To this end we achieved full Safe-T-Cert accreditation in 2016.

We continuously perform to sustainable best practice in all projects and endeavor at all times to minimize our impact on the environment.

Peter Mahon

A professionally qualified, highly experienced and proven Operations Director / Contracts Manager with in excess of 20 years industry experience. Worked initially with numerous Contractors / Project Managers including JJ Rathigans, MSI Contractors and Ballymore Homes in the delivery of New Hotels, Conference Centres, Air Hangers at Shannon Airport, a SIFA Pharmaceutical Warehouse and both civil engineering and building works for numerous ESSO depots nationwide.

Experienced in all aspects of the construction spectrum including new build, design & build, refurbishment, restoration and conservation works. Fulfilled the roles of Operations Director & Contracts Manager for several of the most prestigious contracts delivered by the company including the €2.5 million Clonabreany Wedding venue, €1.6 million Sonas Womans Refugee scheme and the redevelopment and modernization of the Fine Gael Head offices in Dublin City Center.

Competent in all of the company processes including, Estimating, Purchasing, Contracts Management, HSEQ and Human Resources. Achieved all of the following qualifications for Principal Contractors Ltd, CIRI, CIF Membership, Heritage Contractors and the attainment of a Workmanship Award for the €1.9 million Dalkey Avenue Development.

Niall Daly

Having gained valuable engineering and management experience with one of Ireland’s leading Main Contractor’s in the areas of Large Commercial, Pharmaceutical, Leisure and Educational Construction, Niall is founder and Managing Director / Contracts Manager / PSCS of Principal Contractors Ltd. With over 20 years construction industry experience in all construction sectors and proficient in the areas of urban refurbishment, conservation, new build, streetscape and internal fit out and facilities management and also having completed a dissertation in Conservation and Restoration of Historical Buildings across Europe as part of an MSc in International Project Management.

Very much focused on Health & Safety,  Environment Considerations and Zero Defects and completed the CIF ‘Managing Safety in Construction’ course.  A member of “An Taisce” with a strong personal and professional interest in the natural and built environment. As company Managing Director, Niall strives towards full compliance across all aspects of health, safety, environmental and quality and remains up to date with all new legislation and thinking with regard to HSEQ.

Niall has significant training and experience in Conservation/Restoration . He possesses exceptional interpersonal and negotiations skills  and initiated the company’s philosophy of exceeding customers expectations through Dedication, Co-operation, Reliability and Consistency
